Every instrument in the Master series is supervised by a senior luthier from timber selection through assembly and voicing, and play-tested before it leaves the workshop. The difference from the Zhenpin series is not quality but character: Zhenpin is the openness of a carved top, while the Master series leans toward evenness across the registers and consistency between instruments.
Bring two pieces you actually play when you audition one: a fast piece to judge attack and clarity, a slow piece to judge sustain and how the strings answer vibrato. Within a series, models differ mainly in appearance and detailing; the tonal character is shared.
Music teachers and ensemble players are the main users here. Schools buying in batches can ask for matched tuning and action across the batch so that group lessons stay in step — see conservatory programmes.
